TEXTO DEL TEATRO
Once upon a
time a boy named Jack lived with his mother in a little village. They were very
poor and they had only a cow that was too old to produce any milk.
Jack’s mother: Jack, recently we are having problems, we haven’t any
money to eat.
Jack: I think we can sell the cow.
Jack’s mother: I’m sure we will get a good price for it. Could you go
to the market early in the morning?
Jack: Yes, I can. I`m sad we are selling the cow but I`ll do
it.
Jack’s mother: Thank you my dear son.
Jack went to
the market early because it was very far away. In the middle of the way, Jack
met with an older man.
Old man: Where are you going so fast? Where are you carrying
that cow?
Jack: I’m going to sell it in the market because my mother
and I need some money to eat.
Old man: Then, I have a wonderful idea; I will exchange these
beans for your cow. They’re magic beans which will grow overnight and a big
tree will appear. You
will never be hungry again.
Jack: Thank you. I will run to my home and I will show my mother. She will be very happy.
Old man: Good luck!
Jack: Bye!
When Jack
returned home, He told his mother everything.
Jack: Mum, I met an old man in the middle of the way and he
exchanged the cow for the magic beans.
Jack’s mother: Jack, you have
made a mistake! Go to your bed! You have lost our possibility to survive.
Jack: Sorry mum, don’t be sad.
Jack’s mother: I don’t know
what we are going to do.
Jack: I’m going to sleep. I was
dreaming of the magic beans growing into a plant until it touched the sky. I
wasn’t a dream. I’ll climb up the tree above beyond the clouds.
Here,
he discovered an enormous castle and he found a woman. They started to talk.
Jack: Sorry, whose castle is this?
Giant’s wife: It’s my
husband’s house. He’s a very, very bad giant. You must not be here.
Jack: But...Could you give me something
to eat? I’m very hungry.
Giant’s wife: Ok, but don’t
return home late. Here, you have a glass of milk and some bread.
PUM,
PUM, PUM! The door sounded suddenly.
Giant: Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum! I smell the
blood of a human!
Giant’s wife: You must run.
My husband shouldn’t see you. He’s very hungry and if he sees you he’ll eat
you.
Frightened,
Jack ducked under the table. The next moment, the horrible giant entered the
room with sacks of gold coins in his hands.
Giant: Perhaps it’s just the smell of
the turkey I had last night. I’m
tired, I think I’ll go to bed.
The
giant went to sleep and then Jack went out and saw in the hall that the giant
had many treasures. Among then one goose that gold eggs and a small gold harp
which was playing by itself. Harp:
Sir master, wake up, someone is stealing from us! Sir master, he’s stealing from us!
Jack
in that moment was going towards the tree. Then he went down and down while the
giant ran behind him.
Jack: Mum, quickly give me an ax. The
giant is chasing me.
Jack’s mother: Run Jack,
hurry up!
Then
he began to cut the plant. Suddenly the stem broke in two. The giant fell on
the ground and nobody ever saw him again.
Jack’s mother: Ohhhhhhh,
thanks Jack.
